(30/05/07) Indy Car Drivers More and More Impressed with Ethanol

It has been reported that Jeff Simmons, driver of the number 17 Team Ethanol car in Sunday’s Indianapolis 500 told those attending the Ethanol Summit on Thursday, May 24, that the fuels performance continues to impress him and the other Indy car drivers.

“We like to go fast,” said Simmons. “And having that better torque and broader power band this year, the guys are lovin’ it.”

What’s amazing is that there have been no engine failures in any of the Indy Car Series races since making the switch to 100 percent ethanol.

“It’s performed flawlessly, and we’re all looking forward to show everybody how great ethanol is on Sunday.”

The Team Ethanol Driver hopes that those watching the race on Sunday will also recognize that by using an ethanol blend in the family car they’ll be helping the environment and it will help with the performance too.

The #17, Team Ethanol car driven by Jeff Simmons will start in the 13th position at the start of the 91st running of the Indianapolis 500.
