(31/01/07)Cotton acres to convert to corn?

Rising corn prices have gained the attention of Texas based cotton growers who are beginning to trade some cotton acres for corn.

Cotton producers in the south plains, the world's largest contiguous cotton stretch, could swap over up to 750,000 acres to corn from the 3.9 million acres planted in the region last year.
