(21/05/07) Proposal Regarding Renewable Energy Sources

It has been reported that the House Ag Commitee has passed a non binding resolution proposing that 25% of the nation's energy be produced by renewable sources by 2025.

The bill, H. ConRes 25, by collin Peterson (D-Minn), is based on ideas previous put forth by the Energy Future Coalition.

Peterson states,

"The 25 by 25 resolution is a statement of our commitment to support the development of renewable energy sources.  I believe that we can not only meet, but exceed the goal of 25% by 2025, but every journey starts with a first step, and this resolution is a very important fisrt step that we can take to achieving energy independence."
